One of the more high profile prospects that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were in the mix for was linebacker Ken Ekanem from Clifton (Va.) Centreville High School. Instead, he announced on National Signing Day that he was going to stay in the state he went to high school and play for Virginia Tech. Tech is likely to use him as a defensive end in addition to his usual position of outside linebacker.
